What does it consist of?

La imagen tiene un atributo ALT vacío; su nombre de archivo es 5-768x1024.jpegFollicle aspiration is a procedure to extract the eggs that were in the ovary during a previous process called Controlled Ovarian Stimulation, which is the application of medications and its necessary performed for an IVF treatment. These eggs are found in the fluid of the follicles and are extracted vaginally by sedation with a special needle that will carefully aspirate them.

This procedure is simple, it last approximately 20 to 25 minutes, in our clinic where our anesthesiology service staff will help you better understand the anesthesia process, this to prevent you from feeling discomfort or pain during the intervention.

When the liquid  we have extracted from the follicles goes to the laboratory, the embryologist will search among all the other cells in the best-quality, evaluating the characteristics as if it is mature, immature or simply not viable for your assisted reproductive treatment,  which will be personalized for you. Throughout this process we will take care of fertilization  process and embryo culture to its maximum point that will depend on the clinical characteristics of each patient to finish the transfer of the embryo.

Are there any recommendations prior to ovular capture?

Bring your lab studies for surgery. We also ask that patients attend without makeup, without perfume and without nail polish on both; feet and hands and preferably also attend accompanied. Firstable you will sign all the informed consents that are necessary for you to know about the procedures,  the risks and benefits that can be raised.

Are there any post-ovular capture recommendations?

That same day it will be recommended not to make greater efforts, or exercise, you must give the body time for recovery, or sexual relations until further notice.

-The follicle aspiration is one of the most important steps for IVF.

– as we mention, it’s a simple procedure, but not less important, as it is a surgical intervention, as it takes risks.

– after procedure its important for the patient to stay at least 2 more hours to give  time to fully awake from anesthesia.

-Some of the complications that can occur are abdominal pain (such as colic), small bleeding and infections (these are prevented with prophylactic antibiotics that the doctor prescribes).

Do not delay any longer or postpone your treatment. Fulfill your dream to be  a mom.
