FERTILITY PRESERVATION

What is it?

It is a process of saving and freezing both sperm,  egg or a piece of  testicular tissue so the patient can use them further when they want to be parents.

What does it consist of?

It consist In obtaining and storing eggs specifically for future use. This cryopreservation is possible thanks to the vitrification technique, a specific form of egg freezing in which they are preserved in a  very low temperature, thus intact its characteristics from the time they were affected, so your doctor allows you a series of tests to assess if you are a candidate  to perform this procedure.

Which indications does it have?

– when a woman doesn´t have a partner who wants to have children.

–  To Plan my life and enjoy it even more

– Another case may be when you are passing a disease that can cause a decrease or loss of ovarian reserve or sperm quality. This is mostly for any type of cancer that may cause the above.

What is preserved, ova, sperm or embryos?

In both ways it can be preserved, however, scientifically established, the vitrification of oocytes is recommended.  We already have great experience and pregnancy results are so good when an in vitro fertilization treatment is performed, same as  without having previously frozen them.

Can a woman’s age influence the results?

Yes, age affects the ability to conceive and have a full-term pregnancy. The time when preservation is performed its related to pregnancy rates. Let’s put it this way, the sooner we can preserve fertility at the right age (fertile age) we can have a better result  when we can already use the embryos, sperm or eggs.

Don´t forget to ask about  the plans  we have for you with this method, there are many possibilities to achieve your dreams of being parents in the medium, soon or long term.
